Ladavionne Garret Jr. was shot in the head 18 months ago. He was given 72 hours to live at the time— today he turned 12. Ladavionne spent his birthday seeing specialists at Gillette’s Children Hospital in St. Paul, but when he got home this evening, there was a surprise waiting for him.

You can help Ladavionne’s family cover medical expenses by contributing to his GoFundMe. Ladavionne has undergone several brain surgeries, and the bullet is still lodged in his head. The family could use support paying for medical supplies and equipment not covered by insurance.

As a reminder, no one has been held accountable in this case, nor another shooting that killed 6-year-old Aniya Allen. There is a $180,000 reward for information leading to the shooter’s arrest. You can submit a tip anonymously at crimestoppersmn.org or by calling 612-692-TIPS (8477).
